Boggle solver

Type the 16 dice. This page lists every ENABLE word of three or more letters, using classic Boggle points.

Board

One letter per square. Type Q for the QU die. Words must join by an edge or a corner, and a square is used once per word.

Words will show here.

How to use the solver

  1. Type the board left to right, top to bottom. A Q die is one square: type Q or QU there, not Q in one square and U in the next.
  2. Press Find words. The ENABLE list loads in this browser, then the search starts. Nothing you type is sent to a server.
  3. Read the list. Longer words score more: 1 point for 3–4 letters, 2 for 5, 3 for 6, 5 for 7, and 11 for 8 or more.

A legal Boggle word steps to a touching square, including diagonals, and never revisits a square. The solver follows those rules and keeps the first time it builds each word, so the same spelling is not listed twice from two paths. Two-letter words are ignored, matching the classic 4×4 game.

The word list is the public ENABLE dictionary, about 168,000 words, the same list as the unscrambler. Hasbro’s official Boggle list is not public, so a word here may be refused in a tournament, and the reverse can happen too. Fill a sample board if you want to see the shape of a result before you type your own dice.

FAQ

How does this connect letters?

The next letter must touch the current square, including corners. Each square is used once in a word. Three letters is the shortest word that counts.

What do I type for Qu?

Type Q or QU in that one square. It is the letters Q and U, and it still occupies a single die.

How are the points counted?

Classic 4×4 scoring: 1 for 3 or 4 letters, 2 for 5, 3 for 6, 5 for 7, and 11 for 8 or longer.

Which dictionary is this?

ENABLE, loaded when you press Find words. It is not the official Boggle word list.
