How this word unscrambler works
You type letters. The page loads a public-domain word list (ENABLE) once, then checks each candidate against the letters you have. That check runs locally, so the same search works on a train with a shaky signal after the first load.
Four modes
- All words — any word whose letters are in your rack, including shorter words. This is the usual Scrabble / “words from letters” search.
- Anagrams only — words that use every letter. This is jumble and riddle mode.
- Wordle — five-letter words filtered by greens, yellows and greys.
- Pattern — treat the input as a crossword mask.
?is an unknown square.
Wildcards
A question mark is a blank tile. Each ? stands for any one letter. Two blanks are allowed; more than that explodes the search space and is rarely useful on a rack.
Scores
English Scrabble tile values are the default. Words With Friends uses a different table — switch with the WWF toggle. Neither mode adds board premiums (double word, triple letter) because we cannot see your board.
