Q without U words
English almost always follows Q with U. These 23 ENABLE words do not. They let you play the 10-point Q when the U-tile is missing. Memorise QI and QAT first. This is the list for “Q without U word”, “how many Q words without U”, and “Scrabble Q words without U”.
Worked example: a rack of Q I A T N with no U. Type QIATN in the unscrambler. You should see QI (11), QAT (12) and QATS if an S is on the board. Or type Q? to treat a blank as the second letter.

- Three letters. An evergreen shrub (also spelled khat). Easy to hook an S for QATS.

- Four letters. The 19th letter of the Hebrew alphabet. Keep QOPHS in mind for the S-hook.
- TRANQ — 14 points
- Five letters. Short for tranquilliser. Useful when the rack is T R A N plus Q.
