Spelling Bee helper
A Spelling Bee helper finds every word you can make from a 7-letter hive. Words must be 4 letters or longer, may reuse hive letters, and must include the center letter. Pangrams (all 7 letters) are marked. ENABLE is not the New York Times list. Treat this as a practice hive, not today’s official answers.
Try hive AEINRST with center R (the SATIRE letters). Pangrams include retains, nastier, stainer and longer words such as restrain. Four-letter words score 1; longer words score their length; a pangram adds 7.
Type the 7 hive letters. Set the center letter. Words of 4+ letters, using only the hive, must include the center.

How the hive works
Rivals rank for “spelling bee solver” and “pangram solver” with a dedicated hive tool, not a generic unscrambler. Unscramblers require you to use a bag of tiles without reuse. A bee hive lets you reuse letters and requires the center.
This helper uses ENABLE. The New York Times Spelling Bee uses its own list, so some ENABLE words will not count in the official game and some NYT words will be missing here. We do not publish today’s NYT answers.
Scoring on this page follows the common hive rules: 4-letter words are 1 point, longer words score their length, pangrams get a +7 bonus. Related: word maker, 7-letter words and bingo stems.
FAQ
Is this the New York Times Spelling Bee?
No. Not affiliated with The New York Times. Paste any 7 letters and a center to practise. ENABLE is a public-domain list; NYT uses its own.
What is a pangram in Spelling Bee?
A pangram uses all seven hive letters at least once, including the center. This page marks pangrams in the results and scores them with a +7 bonus.
Why are 4-letter words only 1 point?
That is the usual hive scoring. Longer words score one point per letter. A pangram adds 7 on top of its length.
Hive rules this helper follows
Enter seven unique letters. Mark the center letter — every word must include it. Words must be at least four letters. Letters may be reused freely, which is the opposite of a Scrabble rack. A pangram uses all seven hive letters at least once and is labelled in the results.
Scoring on this page follows the common practice-hive pattern: four-letter words score 1; longer words score their length; a pangram adds a 7-point bonus on top. That is a teaching score, not a promise that today’s New York Times Spelling Bee uses the same Genius thresholds on your streak screen.
Practice hives vs the newspaper
The New York Times publishes one official hive and an official answer set each day. ENABLE is a different lexicon. Words that appear here may be missing from the Times list, and Times answers may be missing here. Use this page to train pattern recognition and to learn pangram shapes — not to spoil or certify today’s puzzle. We are not affiliated with The New York Times.
How to practise without spoiling your day
- Build a custom hive from letters you struggle with (lots of vowels, or a tough center like J or X when ENABLE allows).
- Try the AEINRST example with center R when you want a dense, familiar set.
- When you want Scrabble-style racks instead of a hive, leave this page and open the word unscrambler or anagram solver.
- For two-letter dumps and Q-without-U study, use the static lists — Spelling Bee ignores twos and threes by design.
Center-letter discipline
Most failed practice sessions come from forgetting the center. If the result list looks empty, confirm the center field and that you typed seven distinct letters. Duplicate letters in the hive box are not a second copy of the tile — tidy the input first.
