Word solver
A word solver finds words that fit a pattern, a rack, or both. Type known letters and ? for blanks — the query “word solver with blanks”. Crossword squares, hangman, and any clue that is not a full jumble.
Example: C?O?? matches cloud, cloak and other five-letter ENABLE words. Have a rack instead of a mask? Switch to All words, or use the word maker.
Use ? for a blank tile. Words appear as you type.

Word solver with blanks
Rivals split “word solver” from “word unscrambler”. Solver implies a constraint: blanks, a starting letter, a length, letters to exclude. This page opens in pattern mode so a mask like C?O?? is the first thing you type.
Blanks are question marks. Each ? is one unknown letter. You can also set Starts with, Ends with, Must include and Exclude (grey tiles). That is the crossword-letter unscrambler query from Search Console, without a separate thin clone.
Full crossword masks also live on the crossword solver. Green/yellow/grey lives on the Wordle helper. A hive of 7 letters lives on the Spelling Bee helper.
FAQ
What is a word solver?
A word solver lists valid words that match the letters or pattern you already have. This one uses ENABLE in the browser. Use ? for each blank square.
How do I use a word solver with blanks?
Type the known letters in place and ? for each unknown. C?O?? is a five-letter word with C then O in the middle. Add Starts with or Ends with if the clue gives you more.
Word solver vs word unscrambler?
An unscrambler starts from a rack of tiles. A solver starts from a pattern or a mix of pattern plus tiles. Switch to All words on this page to use it as a rack solver.
